Leading UK manufacturer of dental infection control products, Dentisan, has recently moved to a brand new state-of-the-art facility in St Modwen Park Derby.
Dentisan, which was acquired by Swedish medical technology manufacturer Getinge in November 2020, has established new UK Headquarters within the new Global Centre of Excellence for Chemistry.
The move to larger premises will allow Dentisan to significantly expand its manufacturing capacity.
Sustainable Construction
Located just 2 miles from Derby city centre, St Modwen Park is a 50-acre, high profile industrial and logistics park developed in partnership with Network Rail.
Dentisan's new 79,000 sq/ft facility here has been rated as ‘Excellent' by BREEAM, the certification body for sustainable construction, and incorporates production and warehousing alongside a laboratory, dedicated showroom, training academy and office space.
The building comes complete with an EPC A rating demonstrating the building's energy efficiency, which also includes auto sensor lighting and rainwater harvesting, plus 86 rooftop solar panels that provide heating for the entire premises. A bonus is a ‘living wall' up one side of the building designed to encourage biodiversity.
In further efforts to be more sustainable, Dentisan has developed a new EV (electric vehicle) policy for its field team and provided 13 EV charging points on the new site.
Meeting Customer Needs
Bob Newsome, Managing Director of Dentisan and the Global Centre of Excellence for Chemistry, said about the new headquarters: “The competence of the local team in Derby has in no small way made this expansion possible.
“The desire to retain the knowledge and skills within our workforce, which includes chemists and microbiologists, along with our manufacturing and sales teams, has been central to our expansion plans. We are confident that this new facility will enable us to drive innovation, resulting in new products and improved solutions that compliment market trends and meet customer needs.”
