Free Handpiece Care and Maintenance Guide

  1. Remove the bur from the handpiece whilst wearing gloves.
  2. Wash handpieces externally under cold running water using a dedicated brush. (Do not clean the handpiece with disinfectant or immerse the handpiece in any solution including water).
  3. Shake the handpiece maintenance spray can vigorously.
  4. Holding the can upright, insert the nozzle into the base of the handpiece. Ensure that the correct handpiece related nozzle is used.
  5. Spray for 1-2 seconds into a tissue. (Until the excess oil being blown into the tissue is clean).
  6. Wipe off any excess surface oil with a dry tissue.
  7. Put the handpiece into the autoclave. DO NOT use pouches unless you are using a vacuum autoclave.
  8. Select the correct cycle - do not use a drying cycle in a non-vacuum autoclave.
  9. When the cycle is complete take the handpiece out immediately.
  10. Once dry and cool, the handpieces can be stored in a bag or upright on a handpiece stand.
  11. Run handpiece briefly before use to clear excess lubricant.
